Our vision is to make world-class artisan wines from renowned California vineyards. We have a deep respect,  passion and love for the Napa and Sonoma Valleys and are grateful to work with the wonderful people that make up this amazing wine community.

This exquisite vintage of our namesake wine delivers all of the elegance and finesse that fans of Promise have come to expect. Black in color with exuberant aromas, this fine Cabernet Sauvignon has a life story ahead of it. This is a terroir focused wine with developed, earthy tannins from the optimal hang time of its Pritchard Hill mountain fruit and is beautifully balanced with the rich, concentrated flavors of ripe cherry and blackberry from the Oakville valley floor. The savory flavors of soy and dark cocoa abound and are rounded with creamy vanillin from 100% new Taransaud and Darnajou French Oak barrels. The array is luxurious and power packed with an extending two minute finish.  This wine will have rested in the bottle for six plus months before you receive it for extra integration of tannins and softening and will expect to age for 20-25 years under ideal cellar conditions. Aged 29 months in 100% new French Oak. Bottled unfiltered and unfined. 340 cases produced.

The Gratitude

This beautiful red blend opens with striking, supple aromas of cardamon and sweet clove, cedar, coffee and strawberry. As this wine is Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, you will experience a strength of power and focus with blackberry, plum skin, and red ripe currant—all of which lend to a rich, round density on the palate. The other Bordeaux varietals of Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Merlot possess a playful complexity and are masterful in adding depth, vibrant acidity and balance to this wine. The seamless transition from beginning, middle, to end is an incredibly full and complete experience. Pair it with flavorful foods that are rich in character, such as roasted meats, pungent cheeses and dark chocolate to enhance your full experience of this wine. Just 250 cases produced. The Love

This year’s Love is certainly a charming, beautiful Pinot Noir.  Sourced from gravely, steep south-facing slopes, located at the northern tip of the Russian River Valley, this seductive wine begins with a beautiful visual veil of dark garnet. The nose is a rising cacophony of ripe raspberry, cherry skin, cocoa dust and fine, savory cooking spice. The mouthfeel has a smooth and warm start with flavors of Japanese plum, raspberry and tart cherry—building to a crescendo of clove, toasted French oak and black tea tannin and fresh, youthful acidity. At this early stage in the wine’s life, just a few hours exposed to air allows this wine to open quite nicely and expose a softer structure and fuller, rounder body profile.

2019 was a near perfect vintage in RRV, with plenty of sunshine, lower yields as compared to 2018, and smaller berries and clusters. Harvest was September 11th and the wine was made in small lot, open top vats with hand punchdowns consisting of 10% whole clusters. 100% native yeast and native secondary malolactic fermentations were employed and this wine was aged for 16 months in 40% new Francois Frères French oak barriques.  Bottled unfiltered and unfined, 294 cases produced.

The Joy
This wonderfully flamboyant and delightful 100% Rosé of Pinot Noir is gorgeously akin to those that have come before it. Wearing the same beautiful veil of light salmon skin, this wine is simply wonderful. The nose begins with the refreshing smell of pink rose potpourri, Gardenia, and evolves into nuances of sliced grapefruit, fresh strawberry, and delicate cherry skins. The mouth is an explosive array of pink fireworks to the palate, offering a medley of fresh lemon and lime citrus candy, sour Bing cherry, tropical fruits and early red raspberry. The wine’s energy is instantly a summer party on the palate and perfect to inspire joy during warm summer afternoons and evenings ahead. Only 390 cases produced.

Our Winemaking Philosophy

We believe that meticulous farming and cultivation are essential to great winemaking. An overwhelming attention to detail is applied at every step of a vine’s life and throughout every growing season from beginning to end. Once the fruit is harvested, every element is afforded great care: selection, yeasts, crush, maturation, and cooperage, all of which are overseen with great passion. Our style of winemaking looks to find the greatest expressions of each varietal and vineyard. Special focus is given to deliver a perfect blending of balance, complexity and depth. Kirk Venge, a Napa native prodigy, has been the winemaker since 2014.
